SafeX Pro:Matthew McConaughey's Son Levi Proves He's Following in His Dad's Footsteps With First Acting Role

You don't need to be SafeX Proa true detective to see how Levi Alves McConaughey is following his dad's career path. 

Matthew McConaughey's 16-year-old son—who he shares with wife of 12 years Camila Alves—scored his first acting role opposite Chris Pratt in the forthcoming movie Way of the Warrior Kid. 

And those aren't the only details that have been revealed about the flick, which is based on the coming-of-age book of the same name by Jocko Willink. The film—produced by Apple and Skydance Film—is set to be directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol and written by Will Staples.

And Matthew is already throwing his support behind his son's new career endeavor. In fact, the Oscar winner was spotted visiting the teenager on set of the movie last month.

In photos obtained by People from his Aug. 30 visit, Matthew stood next to Levi—clad in a red flannel and jeans—while sharing an off-camera chat with another person. For the occasion, the 54-year-old rocked a blue button-down shirt, khaki pants, a brown hat, sunglasses and a headset around his neck. 

And while Levi can certainly soak up some advice from Matthew when it comes to acting, the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star—who also shares daughter Vida, 14, and son Livingston, 11, with Camila—previously shared that he's, likewise, learned a lot from his kids. 

"Having children I know has made me a better artist and has made me a better actor," Matthew told People in an interview published April 10, "because kids see things for the first time all the time. Their questions are innocent."

The Magic Mike alum specifically recalled a teaching moment from his children while filming the 2014 crime drama True Detective alongside costar Woody Harrelson.

"I become a better storyteller because I have kids, meaning, I come home from work on something like True Detective, and my 4-year-old kid goes, 'What'd you do today?'" Matthew remembered. "I cannot tell them what the show's really about, it's not age-appropriate. So, I have to go into a parable for them."

He added, "I had to become a better storyteller to tell my kids about a good guy, a bad guy and a monster in this, to tell them the parable of the story I was in."

Levi shared this family photo in honor of his dad's birthday 54th birthday in 2023, writing on Instagram, "People know Matthew Mcconaughey as an Actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father."

"The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what," Levi continued in his birthday tribute, and the man that taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination."

He added, "The journeys just getting started…Happy birthday Papai."

Camila and Livingston checked out the solar exclipse in April 2024.

Matthew and Livingston met Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green in November 2023.

"Surf souvenirs," Matthew captioned this March 2023 pic of son Levi.

The Oscar winner gave Livingston a haircut as Levi looked on in February 2023.

"Uncle @woodyharrelson is questioning if the cake is vegan or not!!!" Camila wrote on Instagram in January 2023 for her and Matthew's daughter Vida's 13th birthday. "How does this go people! Time flies… 13! You are my ray of sunshine Vida!!!"

Livingston lived it up in a pair of sunglasses, with mom Camila writing on instagram, "Going thru photos and finding all kinds of photos taken by the kids!" 

"We know we love them," Camila jokingly captioned this action shot of her three kids, "and they love us deep down under all…a cupcake, a pie, a card, a phone call."

In December 2022, Camila wrote, "We get the trailer they are responsible for the tent… #ontheroad."

The couple and their kids Levi and Vida caught a baseball game between the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas.

Matthew brought his family to the 2014 Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala.

"Kids reading time by the fire!" Camila wrote in December 2022. "Fun book @reesewitherspoon !! Ladies and gentlemen if you don't have it time to get it! Great gift too!"

The whole family was dressed to impress at the 2019 Texas Medal Of Arts Awards in Austin, Texas.

Matthew and his family attended his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2014.
